Buildings consume 40% of all energy used in United States, 72% of all electricity generated and account for 38% of all CO2 emissions in the United States. Sustainable “green,” and high-performance building practices provide benefits which include improved occupant satisfaction and performance, reduced utility expenses, lower overall environmental impact, and valuable marketing. The demand for sustainable building practices is growing and understanding the challenges and benefits will allow businesses to understand and meet customer demand.
The conference will be preceded by a reception on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Darwin Martin House Complex in Buffalo, NY. This newly restored Frank Llyod Wright designed structure, is considered one of Wright’s finest achievements of the Prairie period and, indeed, of his entire career. During the reception, guests will have the opportunity for tours and networking.
