WNYSEA Solar Homes & Green Buildings Open House Tour Details:

The self-guided tour is free and open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. To view the entire list of tour sites, go to http://energysage.com/projects/nesea-gboh-listing and find all the sites across WNY by zip code. Additionally, approximately one week before the tour, WNYSEA will compile a list of addresses and make the information available on our website. There is no sign up to attend the tour, you go at your own pace and see what you want. This way if there is a specific place or element you are most interested in, you can be sure to see it!

What will you expect to see during this event?

You will learn about solar, geothermal, bale on bale construction, LEED buildings, net zero houses, energy efficiency, adaptive reuse “historic” buildings and so much more. Each site has someone on site that can answer questions, concerns and demonstrate to you how the technology works.

Why is this event important to Western New York?

The event happens for ONE DAY ONLY and it primary focus is giving the experience from accomplished building owners to educate the public so that more people can integrate similar features in their own homes and buildings.

In 2011, over 1500 people attended and there were forty-five sites across Erie and Niagara Counties, which was the largest tour in New York State.
